Augmentative Communication Services

Communicating Together offers skilled augmentative communication services.  We provide an initial comprehensive evaluation of functional communication needs and abilities and develop a therapy program that is unique to each individual. 

We can assist in:

Recommending strategies to increase communication opportunities in natural environments;

Increasing access to toys and computers to promote play and interaction skills;

Integrating recommended communication strategies and tools into daily life;

Supporting emergent language and literacy skills and an interest in reading and writing;

Creating low-tech communication tools;

Decision making on speech generating device through comparison and trials with the equipment;

Preparing documentation and advocating for funding of speech generating devices; 

Programming and troubleshooting speech generating devices;

Providing ongoing support in acquiring knowledge about and awareness of available augmentative communication and assistive technology tools and strategies through training and connections to available resources.

All services are provided in a one-on-one setting and can take place within our therapy offices, at your home, school or work environment or in the community.
